The Round House

The project "The Round House" is a series of essentially self-referential photographs. Its conceptual background refers to my family history at an elementary level of understanding. Portraying my family environment, the immediate reality, has allowed me to connect with my father and with the work carried out by him as a photographer in the 90s. Thus, the work process functions as an intimate search and a gesture of self-representation. The work process of this series has certain peculiarities. I take a group of family trips as part of my day to day, using the same elements that my father used decades ago to take similar trips with me. Photography as a common practice, the family environment and the car he used are binding resources. In a natural and consequential way I reissue some experiences from my childhood, I reactivate the memory, I air the nostalgia for the past, then I treat it as a legacy and the result of the creative act has been overwritten, embodied in the idea of the trip.
